Have you ever visited somewhere new and felt like you just did not have enough time to really sample the area’s cuisine? If so, you are in for a real treat at the Taste of Autumn in Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg TN – Taste of Autumn

This annual event is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center to raise money for the United Way of Sevier County. Each fall hundreds of people will swarm to the Taste of Autumn, held on September 15th this year, to fulfill their hungry appetites for some of Gatlinburg’s best eating. Not only will they help raise money for a good cause, but everyone walks away with full bellies and big smiles on their faces.

Unlike other events where showing up late is considered cool, you will want to arrive as close to 5 p.m. as possible. And the event is just a short 12 minute drive from Elk Springs Resort. With so many vendors and hungry participants, getting to the event early ensures that you have plenty of time to sample dishes from all around the city. This year, you can look forward to sumptuous samples from the Partridge & Pear, the Fox & Parrot Tavern, the All American Grill, the Smoky Mountain Winery, Knoxville Coca Cola and so much more. At just $25 dollars per adult ticket, you get to taste incredible dishes from over 15 restaurants in Gatlinburg. All kids under the age of 7 are admitted for free, making this a great family-friendly event for everyone to enjoy.

What is even better than hours of great food-tasting and friendly Gatlinburg folks? Knowing that 100 percent of the proceeds go to benefit the United Way. Even if you are not local to Gatlinburg, you will leave your vacation knowing that you helped those people less fortunate than you, all while chowing down with your family and friends. There are three ways to purchase tickets for this year’s Taste of Autumn event: 1) online at uwosc.org, 2) Ripley’s Aquarium or 3) at any Gatlinburg welcome center. Since the event has become so popular over the past 14 years, you will want to purchase your tickets now before they run out!

Since you will be partaking in dozens of different dishes, we recommend you schedule a full, active day before the event. That way, you will build up a serious appetite that can only be satisfied by the fantastic food offered at the Taste of Autumn. Take your family for a hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, sign up for a guide tour on horseback, go whitewater rafting in the Pigeon River or just enjoy walking around the Parkway. There is so much to see and do downtown that you can easily occupy yourself the whole day before the event.
