Big golden turkeys. Creamy mashed potatoes. Crispy green beans. Is your mouth watering yet? Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays for good reason. It is wonderful to be surrounded by friends and family, partaking in a delicious meal and giving thanks for another year. At the Elk Springs Resort, we are grateful not just on Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg, but every day for having such amazing guests that visit us from around the country.
If you are treating yourself to a mountain getaway this Thanksgiving, we are even more grateful. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing our cabins filled with families and loved ones, smiling faces and big feasts spread out on the table. Are you still considering a weekend away? You deserve it! While there are a few cabins left for this weekend, you need to call us soon and book your favorite one. Although Gatlinburg is a quaint mountain town, it has everything you need to prepare a big Thanksgiving Day feast.
All of our gatlinburg cabin rentals feature a kitchen loaded with all the tools you need to cook for your loved ones. Rather than lug groceries all the way from your home to ours, there are several grocery stores within a short drive of your luxury cabin rental.
Are you the kind of traveler that prefers to let others cook for you? We completely understand! That is why we went ahead and compiled a list of restaurants that will be open and serving authentic Smoky Mountain delicacies for you. Since some of these restaurants do require reservations, go ahead and call now to save a table for you and your loved ones.
After a hearty meal, you are likely to need a nap. There is nothing more relaxing yet energizing than a nap high up in the mountains. Settle into one of our comfortable beds, in front of a roaring fire or snuggle up with a blanket on a rocking chair outside. No matter where you choose to close your eyes for a few moments, you will awake feeling like a new person. You might even be hungry for some turkey leftovers!
Hopefully you will be staying with us for the entire weekend. There is plenty to see and do over the holidays that you will have trouble returning home. While the day after Thanksgiving can get a little crazy thanks to Black Friday, you will find that Gatlinburg is a wonderful place to wander around. In addition to enjoying the Parkway, you can stop in at the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Show held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center to start your holiday shopping.
When it starts to get dark, don’t head back to your luxury cabin rental just yet! The Festival of Trees starts on Nov. 22 and ends on Nov. 26. Wander through dozens of trees decorated by local businesses and associations. There will also be performances held all weekend that are certain to entertain even the most bah humbug Scrooge in your group.
Have questions about your next stay at the Elk Springs Resort? Call us at the main office or shoot us an email. We look forward to seeing you soon!
