September in the Smoky Mountains guarantees sunny days and cool nights with the first hint of color in the dogwoods and maples, making hiking and harvest festivals fun activities. By October, the trees begin to get red and yellow, and the wild flowers are a sight to behold. November sees the end of fall, but the chill in the air isn’t too much to take a hike or enjoy the outdoor festivities.
